Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc announced its expanded portfolio of Thermo Scientific Barnstead laboratory water purification systems for North America, including the Barnstead GenPure, Smart2Pure and LabTower systems. Innovative features include advanced electrodeionization (EDI) capabilities, a flexible remote dispenser and the convenience of ordering complete systems with one part number.
This new water purification portfolio also offers versatile ASTM Type I, Type II and reverse osmosis (RO) water systems for various applications such as producing nuclease-free water for molecular biology experiments or water to run a glassware washer. In addition, the Barnstead Smart2Pure and LabTower EDI systems offer two water types from a single integrated system, an innovation for customers with multiple applications. This integrated system frees up space in the lab and eliminates the need to purchase and maintain multiple systems.
At the forefront of the new portfolio, the Barnstead GenPure xCAD Type 1 ultrapure water systems allow full system control at the xCAD remote dispenser. Users have the flexibility of multiple installation configurations, including placing the system under a laboratory counter with wall-mounted and benchtop dispensers, enabling highly customized solutions and maximizing bench space. Advanced UV intensity technology improves total organic carbon (TOC) measurement accuracy to increase reliability and maximize laboratory efficiency.
