National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week (NMLPW) provides the profession with a unique opportunity to increase public understanding of and appreciation for clinical laboratory personnel.
NMLPW is coordinated by a collaborative committee with representatives from 13 national clinical laboratory organizations, including the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science, American Society for Clinical Pathology, AACC, AABB, American Medical Technologists, American Society of Cytopathology, American Society for Cytotechnology, American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics, American Society for Microbiology, Association of Public Health Laboratories, CLMA, College of American Pathologists and National Society for Histotechnology.
This year, NMLPW will be celebrated Apr. 22-28. ADVANCE proudly celebrates National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week by holding our annual Laboratory Professional and Laboratory of the Year contests.

Laboratory professionals are judged on how they demonstrate leadership abilities; go "above and beyond" to make a difference in the workplace; exhibit excellence in job performance; demonstrate commitment to on-going professional development; contribute to the profession; and demonstrate a genuine passion for the profession.
Laboratories are judged on how they institute innovative concepts; demonstrate successful teamwork; accept challenges; demonstrate evidence of willingness to improve; celebrate/support employees; receive commendations from clients; and support the community.
